Learn how to use the Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford Vehicles available in MyGeotab, including how to activate this solution, how to access the solution in MyGeotab, and which cellular networks are available for this solution.
Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford Vehicles
This document answers common questions regarding the Geotab Integrated Solution for Ford Vehicles available in MyGeotab.
Please email the client vehicle VIN list for any Ford vehicles (2019 or newer) to be enrolled to your Reseller. They will confirm which vehicles are supported with the embedded hardware and provide any additional instructions needed for activation.
After confirming which vehicles are supported, please follow the three steps below to activate this solution.
As a prerequisite, you must activate Ford Telematics Modem for your vehicle(s). Please follow the steps mentioned in Activating the Ford Telematics Modem document. When the process is complete, please share the email confirmation with your Reseller.
Please contact your Reseller for completing this step. After this is done, the Reseller will share device serial numbers with you.
! IMPORTANT: Make sure to provide the VIN when adding the device to MyGeotab.
Add a Single Device
1 | Log in to your MyGeotab portal. |
2 | From the main menu, select Vehicles. On the Vehicles page, click Add > Add device. |
3 | Enter the serial number that you received from your Reseller. Enter a name for your device in the Description box, such as [Make][Model][Year] or the driver’s name and click OK. Enter the VIN of the vehicle in the “Vehicle ID number:” field and click Save.

4 | After adding the device in MyGeotab, turn the vehicle ignition ON to complete the process. |
Add Multiple Devices
1 | Log in to your MyGeotab portal. |
2 | From the main menu, select Vehicles. On the Vehicles page, select Add > Quick import. |

Note: You must provide the VIN to add Ford Telematics devices in MyGeotab. |
4 | After adding the devices in MyGeotab, turn the vehicle ignition ON to complete the process. |
! IMPORTANT: Be sure that you add the device to one (1) database only, and that you provide only those VINs which you are authorized to view.
✱ NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours for the vehicle data to become available on MyGeotab after the devices are added to the database.
1 | After you have added the device in MyGeotab, navigate to Map and click the Trips history button. |
2 | Under Trips History, click a trip to view it on the Map. The image below shows an example of a Trip History in MyGeotab. The same User Interface (UI) is used with this Solution. |
3 | To view telematics data and exceptions, you can view inbuilt reports, rules and exceptions from MyGeotab. For more details, please refer to the MyGeotab Product Guide. |

The solution is available on the ATT network in North America.
The cellular connection for the Ford modem can switch between AT&T in the United States and the Rogers network in Canada. However these vehicles must be registered and domiciled in the US.
Currently, there is no roaming agreement for Mexico and the solution will not work in this region.
Currently, there is no roaming agreement for Puerto Rico and the solution will not work in this region.

Ford makes the solution available on the Vodafone network in Europe.
Roaming is available in all 20 countries listed above and additional countries listed below:
Luxembourg, Malta, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Iceland, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Monaco, Andorra, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Faroe Islands, Bulgaria, Slovenia
