Learn more about IOX-AUXM, which monitors up to eight signals from your vehicle in real-time, providing additional insight into the condition of your fleet. It can monitor up to eight inputs at any time with two IOX-AUXMs. It also includes self-learning input triggers and supports GND–Float, GND–Driven, and Float–Driven circuits.

! IMPORTANT: Professional installation (Certified Geotab® Installer or equivalent) is required for the safe and proper installation of this product (harness and/or IOX). The installer must have sufficient technical knowledge and expertise for the respective installation.
WARNING! Always read and follow all safety information, including Important Safety Information and Limitations of Use, before harness and/or IOX installation. Disconnect the GO device from the vehicle before installation and connect it post-installation (see goo.gl/rkLRiA). Failure to follow these instructions and warnings can result in loss of vehicle control and serious injury or vehicle damage.
Identify and test the connection points for the auxiliaries you wish to monitor. Please note, the IOX wire has a reach of approximately 3.5 feet from the GO Device mounting location. Extending the wiring to reach some connection points may be necessary. Make the auxiliary connections and secure them using an approved method, such as T-tapping. Ensure none of the components or wiring interferes with the safe operation of the vehicle.

2 | Plug the 90° USB connector from the IOX into the GO device. Secure the USB connector using a zip tie. Please note that over tightening the zip tie may damage the USB connector. ✱ NOTE: Insert the USB connector in the orientation displayed in the image. | |

The IOX-AUXM can expand from four to eight auxiliaries by plugging in a second IOX-AUXM to the expansion port of the first and following the steps below.
✱ NOTE: You must remove the zip tie from the original IOX-AUXM.
In order for the second IOX-AUXM to report as AUX 5-8, follow the steps below:
1 | Locate the red and black loop, also known as Short. |
2 | Cut the wires to configure the IOX-AUXM to act as Aux 5-8. |
3 | Secure both IOX-AUXMs with a zip tie. |

✱ NOTE: By cutting the loop, the second IOX-AUXM always reports as AUX 5-8, regardless of whether an AUX 1-4 is installed. The loop must be cut before connecting the IOX to the chain.

Apply the following custom parameter to manually configure an auxiliary to operate with the three circuit types listed above:

The two digits for Bytes in the custom parameter above is an 8-bit long hexadecimal number that corresponds to an AUX number ranging from 1 to 8 (i.e. the number of digital auxiliaries that a GO device monitors). A value of 0 configures the corresponding auxiliary into Ground-High or Float-High configurations, while a value of 1 configures the auxiliary to detect a Ground-Float circuit — explained further in the following example.
In this example, the following custom parameters are applied to configure auxiliaries 2, 6, and 8 to a Ground-Float circuit, and the remaining auxiliaries to Ground-High or Float-High:

✱ NOTE: In the second custom parameter, the value of A2 in the bytes section instructs the IOX-AUXM to put auxiliaries 2, 6, and 8 into a Ground-Float circuit configuration. As mentioned above, the value entered in the bytes section is a hexadecimal number. The value of A2 is equivalent to 10100010 in binary. The first digit from the right represents auxiliary 1, the second digit from the right represents auxiliary 2, and so on. Since the digits that represent auxiliaries 2, 6, and 8 have a value of 1, the IOX-AUXM is instructed to place auxiliaries 2, 6, and 8 into a Ground-Float circuit configuration.
You can invert any of the eight auxiliaries in MyGeotab. When auxiliaries are inverted in MyGeotab, the auxiliary reports the opposite of what the GO device logs. For example, if auxiliary 1 is inverted and the device reports a 1 (or true), MyGeotab reports a 0 (or false). If an auxiliary is inverted, the button is highlighted in dark blue. To invert auxiliaries, follow the steps below:

The IOX comes with a termination shunt installed in the expansion port. If you plan to install more than one IOX in a daisy chain, you must remove the shunt from each device in the line, with the exception of the last IOX connected. The shunt must remain in the last IOX and secured with a zip tie. A maximum of 4 IOXs can be daisy chained for GO6 devices. GO7 and newer devices allow up to 5 IOXs in total.
The shunt in the last IOX ensures the GO device detects and configures the IOX, as effectively as possible.
✱ NOTE: Failure to install the shunt in the last IOX may affect IOX communication. To ensure the IOX communicates, please secure the shunt with a zip tie.

WARNING! Do not attempt to remove the devices from the vehicle in which they are originally installed for installation in another vehicle. Not all vehicles share compatibility, and doing so may result in unexpected interactions with your vehicle, including sudden loss of power or shutdown of the vehicle’s engine while in operation or cause your vehicle to operate poorly or erratically and cause death or serious injury and/or vehicle damage.
